PARTNERSHIP WITH THE INSTITUTIONS AND THE PRIVATE SOCIAL SECTOR
“IL PORTICO” is actively working through development and implementation of projects, with the themes from both, the institutional and also private social sector. Over the years the relationship with these subjects has widened and we have established strong partnerships based on collaboration, sharing of knowledge and skills and a relationship of trust.

INSTITUTIONS
- Commune of Dolo: the administration of the city where “IL PORTICO” is, in particular the Social Services Department for the management of common cases, support in the economical level, activities with the Department of Education, Culture and Youth Policy for the promotion of cultural initiatives we propose in the territory and the activation of the office “Eurodesk” inside the Association.
- ULSS 13 of Dolo-Mirano: in particular our association has established colaborations with
- Social Services
- Conferenza dei Sindaci (the Conference of Mayors ), the Association participates in several working groups for drafting the area plans for social services, for the years 2007/2009 where we proposed several specific projects
- Department of Psychiatry, the Department for toxicdipendences, Department of Forensic Medicine
- Prevention Service (Ser.T.), the Education and Health Promotion Services (SEPS) and the Work entering service (SIL)
- Consulting for the Volunteers, coordination of the voluntary associations occupied with disability and handicaps within the terirory of ULSS 13
- National Agency for Youth, a public organization with financial and organizational autonomy, supervised by the Italian government and the European Commission. It was established by the Italian Parliament to implement the Decision 1719/2006/CE of the European Parliament and Council establishing the program Youth in Action for the period 2007-2013. Our Association is accredited by this Agency as a sending, coordination and hosting organization of projects initiated under the Youth in Action, addressed to all young people with the aim to promote mobility within and beyond Europe’s borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue.
LOCAL PRIVATE SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS
They are involved in the promototion of activities in favor of developing countries such as:
- projects of international cooperation (initiatives supported by organized groups such as cooperative “Arino Solidarity” by Arino di Dolo)
- “JARDIN DE LOS NIÑOS”: contributions to the project for building houses, schools, laboratories, meeting centres, social and cultural services in the so-called “villas miserias” in the city of Posadas (province of Misiones). Our Argentinian friend Emilio Marchi started this project at IL PORTICO, and now manages it in Argentina. The project’s legal address is our association’s, but it has been supported by an autonomous association since 1988, and its operative office is located in Padua
- “Il Villaggio Globale”: the association, together with other associations and volunteers, took part in the foundation ofthis A-type social cooperative that works on providing a rental accommodation for socially disadvantaged people (such as immigrants, ex-imprisoned people, excluded people etc.). Currently the cooperative coordinates the regional consortium of social cooperatives “Il Villaggio Solidale”, is an active part of Foundation “La Casa” ONLUS and is co-ordinating the project “Casa a colori“ (“House Colour”) Dolo, which will be started shortly.
- “Cooperativa di Solidarietà Sociale Giuseppe Olivotti”: “IL PORTICO” actively cooperates with this cooperative active in the therapeutic activities in this territory. Currently “IL PORTICO” offers its space for realising their voluntary activities which involves the persons living at the cooperative. The association and the cooperative have colaborates together on the project “Nuovi cont@tti, Idee educative e di accoglienza per le nuove sostanze”.
- “CATARSI” socio-cultural youth association: thanks to the work of young people that followed the starting of these activities, in December 2005 this jouvenile association moved its first steps in the premises of IL PORTICO. As explained in its Statute’s purposes, CATARSI focuses upon social integration of excluded people through the organization of cultural activities, paying special attention to young people’s proposals. It aims to highligh human and artistic expressions in their different forms, and to realize social and cultural exchanges with young people coming from the countries of the EU.
